Yoga patrons is full sport during the Hope Gardens session

The Esirom Foundation recently hosted its second yoga session, which continues on the the first “Yoga in the Hills” that was staged during National Park Week.

Esirom says one of the aims of the yoga series of events is to encourage people to spend more time outdoors or in green spaces, and increase motion to enhance physical and mental well-being.

“Facilitating public proximity/access to adequate green spaces in cities is a part of one of our future projects under Sustainable Urban Planning,” explained Esirom’s sustainability coordinator, Khalia Hall.

She continued: “The yoga series will act as a source of periodic funding for the Foundation as well, with all profits going towards our other initiatives/activity such as our Kingston Harbour Eco-Research Initiative (KHERI), which is currently a priority.”

Hosted by yoga instructor Donovan Manning, the “Yoga in the Gardens” session had a total of 27 persons at Hope Gardens, where participants got complimentary tea, coffee and immunity boosting shots by Jamaica Mountain Peak. The other sessions to come include: ‘Yoga on the Beach’, ‘Yoga by the River’ and ‘Yoga in the Yaad’, all to be done by the end of the year.

Jamaica Mountain Peak representative Dianne Haslam is all smiles as she served up some wellness immunity boosting shots to yogies.

“The next one will fall in late July, so we’re encouraging everyone interested to please keep abreast on IG page @esiromfoundation,” Hall said.
