Esirom Makes: What’s on Sale, in Development and Delayed

Esirom Makes, the manufacturing side of Esirom, has one product line on sale and three that are not. This is where each one stands as of October 2026.

Manufacturing has always been in the Esirom name: Entertainment, Sustainability, Impact, Research, Online and Manufacturing. Esirom has mostly been known for digital work. Makes is developing manufacturing capability. It is not a full factory.

Product status

Available. Bring Yuh Owna Tings utensil sets, on shop.esirom.com. Five colours: yellow, pink, dark blue, mint and teal, at J$2,000 a set. Bulk is on the products page. The shop launched in April 2026. A Reggae Sumfest drop ran as a timed pre-order in July 2026. That drop is closed.

The shop is a Foundation product. Esirom Limited bills separately. Shop orders go to the shop.

Research. Recycled sunglasses. The manufacturing page lists them as Research Complete. In the Jamaica Observer on 28 September 2025, Alex Morrissey said Esirom plans to wash, shred and melt type 2 and type 5 plastic collected from Kingston Harbour into new products, starting with sunglasses made from 100% recycled plastic, with tested lenses. The team has visited Indonesia to study processing. A facility is planned. Type 1 bottle recycling is not yet possible. Research complete does not mean on sale.

In Development. Spanish thyme seasoning, an authentic Jamaican spice blend. It is In Development on the manufacturing page and not in the shop.

Delayed. GrowKit, a home growing product. The 2025 target has passed. There is no new date.

Makes also takes on small custom physical pieces for events, artists and brands. That is one-off or short-run work, not mass production.

Where the material comes from

Esirom Foundation, through KHERI, collects harbour waste. Esirom Makes is exploring commercial uses for suitable recovered material only. Type 2 and type 5 plastic are the ones named. Type 1 is not. Not every piece of plastic pulled from Kingston Harbour can become a product.

Why product and digital are built together

BYOT won a Bronze Telly in 2025. The utensil set turns that campaign’s environmental behaviour into something people can carry and use. Product, brand, story and checkout were designed together, and the shop was built in-house.

What this means. A shop and a production line are different jobs. BYOT is for sale. Sunglasses, seasoning and GrowKit are not. Labelling them clearly protects trust better than a buy button for stock that does not exist.

What to do

  1. If you make or sell physical products, label each one honestly: Available, Prototype, Research, In Development or Delayed.
  2. Decide whether you are making merchandise or building a product line. Merchandise can launch with a small run and a store. A product line needs research, testing and suppliers before it ships.
  3. Plan product, story, distribution and checkout together, not one after the other.

This is the first piece in an Esirom Makes series. Later pieces will report milestones as they happen: material testing, prototypes, machinery, suppliers, setbacks, costs, packaging and first production runs.

Product status last fact-checked 9 October 2026 against the manufacturing page. Shop price as listed on 21 August 2026.
