B2B Buying Starts 124 Days Before the CRM Sees a Deal, Factors.ai Finds

Factors.ai published From Benchmarks to Blueprints: The LinkedIn Revenue Engine for B2B on 23 September 2026. The firm analysed proprietary platform data from more than 850 B2B companies (over US$150 million in LinkedIn ad spend) and more than 50,000 closed deals worth over US$5 billion from CRM-connected accounts. In that sample, LinkedIn recorded a 1.6× return on ad spend against 1.18× for Google, and LinkedIn-sourced deals were 34% larger on average. Those figures are Factors.ai’s claims from its anonymised customer data, not a Jamaica-only survey.

The headline timing finding: sustained engagement on LinkedIn begins about 124 days before a deal is created in the CRM. Most teams still clock the buying cycle from opportunity create. Factors.ai’s read is that the real research window opens much earlier. Accounts that engaged six or more contacts before deal creation recorded a 17.1 percentage-point lift in pipeline win rate versus accounts that engaged one contact. Deals that involved an end user, an influencer and a technical evaluator showed a 22-point lift, the strongest role mix in the analysis.

Paid and organic together mattered. Accounts with both LinkedIn Ads and organic LinkedIn activity recorded win rates 10.8 percentage points above baseline, according to the 23 September Business Wire release (via Yahoo Finance). On lost deals, accounts going dark, buying groups stalling, or teams losing the right decision-maker made up 27.1% of documented lost deal value — ahead of competition (19.3%) and product gaps (13.5%). Social Media Today also summarised LinkedIn’s packaging of the same research for advertisers.

What this means. For Caribbean B2B sellers — agencies, software and services firms, exporters pitching buying committees — the CRM date is a late signal. If your first serious touch is when sales opens an opportunity, you have already missed months of LinkedIn research by end users, influencers and technical evaluators. Single-contact “champion” campaigns under-invest in the buying group that actually moves win rate. Treat the ROAS and deal-size multiples as Factors.ai’s B2B sample, not a promise for every Jamaican account.

What to do. This week, pick one open pipeline account and map at least six contacts across end user, influencer and technical evaluator before you wait for a CRM stage change. Pair any LinkedIn Ads flight with a steady organic presence from named people on the account, not only a company page. Stretch awareness and thought-leadership spend into the roughly four-month window before opportunity create instead of concentrating budget in the last sprint. Last fact-checked 2 October 2026.
