The team at ESIROM, through its We Care arm, are currently planning to execute a blood drive this month.
The techies have taken on a wellness approach with their first instalment of corporate social responsibility activations.
The We Care drive is endorsed by Miss Jamaica World 2022 Khalia Hall, who is also slated to volunteer as a donor.
“At ESIROM, our surging reach and influence require that we commit to a high standard and hold ourselves accountable by ensuring that we build technologies that have a positive impact, keep people safe and serve everyone,” according to a statement from the group.
The statement continues: “We will be partnering with the National Blood and Transfusion Service to host our first volunteer activity.”
ESIROM will be conducting three blood drives for 2022 and the first of the series takes place on April 16th – followed by upcoming drives in July and October.
All blood donors are urged to visit the National Chest Collection Centre located at 36 1/2 Barbican Road.
And, as an incentive to their participation, donors will receive a JM$500 gift card fulfilled by @BlinkSkyJA.
You can sign up for ESIROM’s We Care blood drive here; be sure to select Good Health & Well Being.
And until the ‘D-day’, note these requirements for donating:
- Get enough rest leading up to the day.
- You must be between the age of 17 to 60 years old.
- Persons should be free of cold, flu, or any other transmissible diseases. It takes approximately 5-7 minutes to donate blood.
- Approximately one pint of blood is given during the donation process.
- It is estimated that one blood donation can help save up to three lives. Drink an extra 16oz of water or non-alcoholic fluids before the donation. Wear clothing with sleeves that can be raised above the elbow with ease.
